The goal for the Local Organising Committee of Helsinki 2012 is to create a unique experience also for the participating athletes. In all planning also the individual needs of the athletes are taken into consideration.

Most important thing for participating athletes is of course the competition and matters closely related to it. From athletes point of view the key benefits of Helsinki are short distances, clear and safe environment and rigorous arrangements.

Organizers are doing their utmost that Helsinki 2012 will be an entertaining and memorable event for all athletes. Helsinki is expecting more than 1000 athletes from 50 different countries. Altogether the number of team members will rise to 1600.
